Arizona Diamondbacks

One of the newer teams to National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks brought an official Major League baseball team to a city that had seen plenty of spring training sessions.

The Arizona Diamondbacks ballpark is Chase Field. It also has several nicknames, including The BOB (after “Bank One Ballpark, its original name) and the Snake Pit. It is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

The original Arizona Diamondbacks logo is a green and purple “A”. The Arizona Diamondbacks new logo features a rattlesnake in the form of a “D”, and a revamped version of the “A”, done in the Arizona Diamondbacks team colors of Sedona Red, Sonoran Sand, and Black.

The Arizona Diamondbacks jersey is different for home games and away, like it is for many teams. The Arizona Diamondbacks baseball jersey for home games is either white or red with the word “D-Backs” on the front. For the away games on the Arizona Diamondbacks schedule, the uniforms are gray or black with “Arizona” or an “A” on them.

2001 for the Arizona Diamondbacks was a glory year. The schedule for the Arizona Diamondbacks led them to postseason victories over the Cardinals and the Braves. This put them into the World Series, where to the excitement and amazement of fans, they ended up beating the New York Yankees, who were the reigning champions. Winning in only their fourth season of play, this made the Arizona Diamondbacks the youngest expansion team to win the World Series, and marked the beginning of the end of the Yankee’s reign on baseball victories.

Unfortunately, the Arizona Diamondbacks could not keep up the pace, and in 2004 had the worst record in the League.

2007 is a year of change for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team got completely redesigned uniforms. This shocked fans to some extent, since they turned down the historic purple, copper, and turquoise for “Sedona Red”. The “A” design remains unchanged, except for the colors. The players of the Diamondbacks are also changing. Luis Gonzalez left to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Craig Counsell left for the Milwaukee Brewers, and Miguel Batista signed with the Mariners among other changes.
