The new version of MLB 2k7 by 2k sports is somewhat of a disappointment for many that have tried it. Too many players have ratings of 100 in the game, so there’s little variability in teams with these superstars. JD Drew has a rating of 100, Shawn Green has a rating of 98. These are two players that deserve average ratings but instead play the game with the same effortlessness as an Albert Pujols. It has many bugs that slow down game play and frustrate the consumer. However, once past these weaknesses, one can enjoy the batting, pitching, fielding systems that are both challenging and fun to master. You can scout pitchers and learn what types of pitches they are likely to throw given the count and the situation. Your fielders shift into position depending on the scouting reports of the player at the plate. At the mound you can aim your curve right at the batter and, if successful, watch it slide down to the middle of the plate. So, all in all, the game is fun to play, but you won’t see any noticeable advantage if you trade a JD Drew for Albert Pujols, and you will have to deal with the numerous bugs that have yet to be dealt with. But, of course, if you love baseball games it should be rather easy to get around these drawbacks and you will no doubt enjoy the game play and scouting features that the game has to offer.

In the cheats section of the game, you can add some fun to the daily grind of baseball. If you type m4murder, you will find that you get an increase in HR ability for a game. Game On will unlock all the extras or typing Derek Jeter will unlock everything. You want to see Mickey Mantle at the plate? Type phmantle and he will pinch hit for you. Mighty Mick will send your team’s power rating 25% to the plus for 1 inning. Type triple crown and your 3,4,5 hitters will receive a 50% hitting bonus for 1 game. Cheats are, of course, ways to make your play look better to your friends, of course the serious player will avoid these for a real challenge.
