Baseball Fencing

Baseball Fencing

Baseball fencing is used for a number of things. Not only is it used for protection from intruders, but also for advertising. Signs are posted advertising things ranging from sponsors such as pop companies, banners for the team, and screens showing the scores and instructing the crowd for applause. There are also speakers on the fencing for the music being played during the game, and sometimes, announcements. These fences aren’t just the normal chain-linked fences. They are more like walls made of plastic.
Chain-linked fences are used in small cities and local fields.

Outfield Baseball Fencing

The outfield fence is set at a distance usually ranging from 350-400 ft from home plate. The also mark the end of the field. The distance between the fence and the foul line is about 75 feet. These fences are usually made of plastic paneling or fabric mesh. The mesh fences are usually about 150 feet. The plastic paneling fences are usually about 100 feet.

Removable Baseball Fencing

There are a few different kinds of removable fencing ion baseball. There is a fence for the bats to hang on. There are also in-ground removable fences. There are also fences made of removable panels. Most of the fence lines are made of galvanized steel, with a P.V.C. safety cover, and can vary from 4’ to 8’ high. Most of the backstops, or fencing behind the catcher, and the dugouts are made of this steel.

Fence Caps

Exposed chain link poses a huge safety problem at many modern fields. It is often ragged and sharp, creating a potential danger for athletes, fans, and visitors. Even if it is folded down at the edges, it is still a hazard. One way to solve this problem is a fence cap. This is often a piece of Polypropylene plastic material that is placed over the top of the fence and connected by hooks. Most of them are shaped and sized to fit the specific fence that it is placed on. It also creates a visible protective marker. Colors may be alternated for effect or to delineate areas. There is also the Polytube cap, which is the same concept, only goes around the pole on top of the fence. A lot of times, they are pre-slit for easy installation. They fit over almost all chain-link sizes. It flexes and changes contour to fit the fence.
