Unfortunately, to date the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have not done well. They have not had a single winning season, and finished last in their division the first 5 years they were in it, and the team has done little to distinguish itself.
However, there is hope on the horizon. $10 million in improvements was made to Tropicana Field, including a 10,000 gallon tank that is home to 30 live rays. Other changes, like free parking for home games, tailgating in the parking lot, and allowing food to be brought in is hoped to generate interest among the fans. The name of the team will also be shortened to the Tampa Bay Rays after the 2007 season.
