Detroit Tigers
The current American League, the Detroit Tigers have recently made a return to victory. Making it to the World Series in 2006, they have high hopes of winning it this season.
The Detroit Tigers logo is a simple “D” done in Navy or white. You can find this on everything from Detroit Tigers tickets to Detroit Tigers loose fit training shirt or even a Detroit Tigers bead bracelet. In fact, fans can purchase a variety of fans featuring the Detroit Tigers logo. Maybe an autographed Detroit Tigers baseball will spruce up your desk, or you can get Detroit Tigers curtains for your bedroom.
For the Detroit Tigers, the 2007 schedule starts with the Detroit Tigers going through spring training in Florida. You can buy Detroit Tiger tickets to these and the regular games of the Detroit Tigers schedule on their online website.
For home games, the Detroit Tigers play at the new Detroit Tiger stadium, Comerica Park. Comerica Park was built to replace the Tiger Stadium as the home of the Detroit Tigers, and is directly next door to the home of the Detroit Lions, Ford Field.
While baseball is not a contact sport, injuries do happen. One Detroit Tigers player, Edward Campusano, was scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon for elbow surgery prior to the 2007 season. This will keep him from playing this year. This is Campusano’s third elbow injury, though the hope is that he will recover quickly from the surgery.
So far, however, the Tigers’ 2007 season looks promising. Gary Sheffield was traded onto the team during the off season, as well as Brandon Inge, Jeremy Bonderman, and Carlos Guillen. 22 of the 25 players that went to the World Series are returning. The June 12th game against the Milwaukee Brewers proved to be a no-hitter, which was the first since 1984 and the first in Comerica Park. Several Detroit Tigers players will also be representing the team at the 2007 MLB All-Star Game: Carlos Guillen, Ivan Rodriguez, Placido Polanco, and Just Verlander.
For Detroit Tigers fans, a trip to the official website is a must. There you can get all the latest information on the Tigers’ games, as well as take a glance at the team roster or schedule.
